"If you can't beat them, arrange to have them beaten"

Last weekend the local race scene offered a double header.  Round 5 of the CCCX series stopped at Toro Park on Saturday.  Temperatures were in the mid 80's and the course offered plenty of climbing and technical descending every lap.  I rocked my trusty RockLobster single speed to the first win of the season; that bike is fast!  CCCX post race write-up here.

This year, Candlestick Park was the first venue for the Bay Area Super Prestige series.  Similar to Toro Park, temps were in the 80's which lead to dry and dusty racing.  From the gun Scott took the holeshot and never looked back.  5 minutes in, I attacked from the group and rode in no-man's land for the remainder of the race.  Scott and I finished 1-2, setting us up well going into the BASP series overall while Alex Work put in a solid ride despite being sick.  Write-up found here; note the sweet aerial footage from the GoPro cam.

Next up, Surf City Cyclocross at Aptos High!
