2011 Cyclocross season underway

Two weeks ago my teammate Scott Chapin and I started of the 2011 cross season by racing the hugely popular CrossVegas in Las Vegas.  This was first race competing for my new team, Bay101/HRS/RockLobster.  I competed in CrossVegas 2 years ago and similar to my first appearance, I was called up last row. I managed to get around 60-70 racers to finish in the low 50's.  Scott had an awesome experience and finished 60 something.

After loading up the team support vehicle, we were off to Seattle for the UCI double header.  Though both courses were pancake flat, both days had numerous fast grass turns separated by 2 long sandpits.  Saturday was dry and dusty while Sunday was greesy with a little bit of rain.  Scott and I both got top 20's one day and low 20's the other.  The goal of a top 15 was just out of reach although I gave it everything I had.

We packed the team vehicle and wrapped up our 5 day, 2,800 mile trip in sunny Santa Cruz.  Good times on the road and it was great catching up with family and friends along the way.  Get rad!
